So last week I went to Walmart after class, and I didn't find what I came in for but I found a damn good deal on polish!

3 OPI POLISHES FOR $9.01...yep.

I was exiting & saw the OPI collection in the salon, and then I saw the clearance stand in the salon. Most of the colors were from the Katy Perry, and Pirates of the Carribean line!! This was quite a steal!!

Normally would've been around $27

I'm in Love....

WITH AQUA ZUMBA!! Class was so fun! First off it was only 4 "college-aged" students in the class, the rest of the ladies were mostly faculty members from school, or either people from the community. I wore my "cutesy" suit that I got for my Miami trip last year, but that one strap suit, these F-Cups on my chest, and all that moving around was lethal lol so I had to be very cautious. The next day I went to Burlington Coat Factory and picked up a cute 2-strap, full coverage suit for only $14.99! I love my new suit.

I brought my neighbor along with me, and after class we went to the sauna! I think thats going to be something I do twice a week, after 50mins of Aqua Zumba. I love the sweat & toxin release! So far I've been to two sessions, and I see that they will progressively get harder!!

A few people have told me they've noticed that I have lost weight (not because of aqua Zumba of course, but I've been cleaning my eating habits), yay!! My scale is about to get put out, because that number ain't really moving & it's hella depressing. I plan to add Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred and daily 25 minute elliptical sessions for the month of February to see how much damage I can do with CIAA & Spring Break coming up in March!

Red Tails!

As you may, or may not know, this past weekend "Red Tails" made its box office premiere as the number two hit & raking in $19.1 Million. The storyline is that of the Tuskeegee Airmen & the struggles and triumphs they faced; it was inspiring. It portrayed friendship, determination, and how the people you least expect can make a difference.

I went to check it out on Sunday with a friend (I don't even really like him, so maybe he's an associate *shrug*). I shed a couple tears, and gave a few side eyes, but all in all the story and message was moving. I'm not a big Terrance Howard fan, but he was actually one of my favorite roles in the movie. I did not like NeYo's character, nor the one assigned to Method Man (too corny to me).

The eye candy in this movie is unbelievable. All different types of scrumptious black man, at one point I think my mind was just on the fact that some of them were so cute! I enjoyed this film, although somethings could have been better. If you subscribe to EBONY magazine there is a wonderful article about the movie, and the leading men are covering this issue.

Here it is y'all! Friday has came & gone and here is how I ended up rocking my dress! Black blazer (I put my own pearl button on it), black tights, suede wedged Mary-Janes, darktone silver earrings & a cocktail ring! It was a crazy night & I had to be at work at 7 the next morning smh, I made it though. I can honestly say i think maybe 95% of the people in the club weren't sober, and if I would've gotten a picture of me & my girls together you would see what I mean haha! Guess its the joys of college, so I'll enjoy it while I can!!

Here at school we have this major Health/Education/Wellness Complex with indoor track, swimming pool, smoothie shop and all that good stuff. They even have personal trainers and masseuse now, they are getting fancy.
Every semester they release a new schedule for the group fitness classes and this time around they have AQUA ZUMBA, and I'm trying to see what that's like. It sound exciting and like a nice thorough workout. Group Fitness classes start the 17th and Aqua Zumba is every Monday and Wednesday for 50 minutes, so I will definently keep you all posted on how this class goes.

Now I'm off to find some hair products to keep my hair pH balanced, maybe a new swimsuit, because I'm bound to have nipple slip out of my current suit, and maybe a tight fitting swim cap (I'm serious about my BSL hair)!!♥

We Made it into 2012...Now What???

So far we have had 10 days to live in 2012, but that means there are only 356 days left to enjoy to the fullest!! This is the time of the year we either set ourselves up for success or failure for the rest of the year, some have New Year resolutions, traditions for the new year, or there are the people like me making vision boards, goals, and things to check off my "Before I Graduate Undergrad" checklist.
My top goals for 2012 are:

1. Making a 4.0GPA for each of these 2 semesters I have left

2. Sticking to healthy eating & working out

3. Acheiving BSL length hair..I'm almost at SL but I'm addicted to clipping my ends #whatev

4. Saving $1000

5. Strengthening myself spiritually

6. Setting myself up for life after graduation...technically I have until next summer for that, but I need to really get serious about & have my next move planned

Just a few of my main goals I want to accomplish this year. What goals have you all set for yourselves & how do you plan on acheiving them??

Hello beautiful people, we have lived to see the last day of 2011...a year we had never seen before & one we will never see again. Its a time a reflection, a time of celebration, and a time to think on what we want the future to bring us. I'm not one of those resolution type people, I evolve all throughout the year without announcements. All I know is that for 2012 I want to continue rising & excelling at life, I want to continue to love and comfort those in my life, and prepare for life after undergrad!!

Ugh, I know I'm completely suck at this blogging thing lately. I love to blog and express myself, and get in touch with you all but my young life is so busy & crazy that sometime I can't reach out in this way.
Last time I spoke to y'all I was talking about the weightloss competition with my mom. Lost around 12lbs for the month of November, and I was pretty happy, then here comes December with exams, late night study sessions (that include snacks), end of the semester parties (with drinks), and graduation parties (with snacks and drinks, lol). Christmas was bananas, family, friends, and food...it was fabulous, and really merry. And now after the December I've had I ain't trying to get on that scale to even see the damage I have done, smh. But aye, a set back doesn't mean I have to stay there, so I'm back on my grind, and I'll update ya'll on that in an upcoming post.
2011 has flown by us all, and I'm glad that the year brought me many blessings and I'm glad to be closing it out with a light-heart and a joyous outlook on the year to come! So be ready, because I'M BACKKK *T.I. voice* lol.

Bring it On, Mama!!

Here it is the eve of my 21st birthday, I'm sitting here and all I can think about is a conversation me and my mother had earlier this week. We were talking about weight loss, her going to Hawaii in December and me going to Miami for spring break in March and how we want to tone down a little before our trips...and then that's when it happened. SHE CHALLENGED ME. Oh yes she did, a good ol' mother/daughter challenge with prizes on the line! We decided that by March we will have lost 40lbs each, and that whoever loses the most each month will win a prize of their choice. I told my mother she might as well pick up my prizes now because I'm going to be on top every month. I think this is going to be exciting. For my prizes I choose:

-A new TV (the one I have now is...smh #nocomment)

-$150 Visa

-MP3 AUX output for my car

-and I still haven't decided on the fourth one yet. I was thinking maybe an iPhone, but nah I like my EVO. Maybe something from LUSH, or something beauty related. Any suggestions ladies?

My mother is my goal weight of 170 already, while I'm stuck at ____ (so disgusted I can't even say). I can't believe she wants to be 130 though. That just seems way too little, but if it makes her happy I'm with it! I gained 50lbs my freshman year of college and its been terribly hard to shake off between work and school. A lot of people notice most of weight gain in my thighs and breast, which are the last things that need any type of growth. Hopefully not only will there be a loss of pounds and inches, but a few bra sizes too, because I would love to be able to fit a VS bra again!

My mother its obsessed with sending forwarded emails at work. I get one from her almost every other day & I usually just delete them. This morning I decided to open the one, and it made me think.
Here it is:

A friend of mine opened his wife's underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper- wrapped package:

'This, - he said - isn't any ordinary package.'

He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.

'She got this the first time we went to New York , 8 or 9 years ago. She has never put it on , was saving it for a special occasion.

Well, I guess this is it.

He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.

He turned to me and said:

'Never save something for a special occasion.

Every day in your life is a special occasion'.

I still think those words changed my life.

Now I read more and clean less.

I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.

I spend more time with my family, and less at work.

I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.

I no longer keep anything.

I use crystal glasses every day...

I'll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it..

I don't save my special perfume for special occasions, I use it whenever I want to.

T he words 'Someday....' and ' One Day....' are fading away from my dictionary. ; If it's worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now....

I don't know what my friend's wife would have done if she knew she wouldn't be there the next morning, this nobody can tell..

I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.. She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.

I'd like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favourite food.

It's these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come..

Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.

Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one..

Senioritis...Lawd Help Me!

Its been almost 2 weeks since I began my fourth year of college & I'm tired all freaking ready. I have 8am classes everyday, & I'm juggling school, work, and a social life *oh the horror*. I love the courses I'm taking I just hate getting up out my bed to get there...I just need a week off of everything to sit on the beach, let the wind blow through my fro (which has been neglected recently), and drink a daiquiri (virgin of course *side eyes*).

So far though, my senior year has been full of blessings. Met fabulous new people at work and from school, got a lot of freebies, I got a new car and I think all my professors are happy to have me again. I just need a full weekend off, ~~and $500~~ to cater to myself and get focused, though. Labor Day weekend is coming up, so I know I won't get that opportunity, but maybe for Fall Break I'll get the chance. I just need it happen before my 21st or I might not make it lol.

OAN: My Kanye Workout Plan is beginning tomorrow. Hopefully steady exercise will give me that extra boost of energy to push me through my classes! So tomorrow I'm going to join the Red-Eye Runners/walkers and get my blood flowing bright and early & MF I'll be doing early morning cycling classes....I like to do things early in the morning so I can be lazy the rest of the day lol.

Excuse the tired face, I'm a work lol

And my phone is suffering from a gunshot wound...lets just say maybe I had too much fun Saturday night lol. No worries though, a replacement screen is like $15 bucks online so I'm going to engage in a DIY phone fix, because Sprint ain't getting $100 from me. I'm debating telling my parents, maybe they will feel bad and put me on the list for iPhone 5 -__- (yea right). Luckily the screen is still functional, its just the glass that's cracked. I love my Droid though!

Yesterday I went shoe shopping for a pair of shoes to wear to an all white affair. And shoes are one of my addictions...needless to say I bought two pair on impulse. Just thought I would share some of the shoes I came across & please ignore the ashiness of my feet, I was just getting off work :(. Now that I look at it, I must be in a disco-ball phase, because all these shoes have some kind of sparkle to them!

I have a new roommate moving in sometime next week and I L O V E her! Honestly don't think God could have blessed me with a better roomie/housemate/whatever! I have been praying for new friends & sure enough this week he sent me 2 spectacular ladies, one being my roommate Melanie & the other her coworker Jada! He may not do it ASAP, but God is def. in the business of answering His children's prayers.

We officially met on Tuesday and did lunch and went out later that evening (which was an #EPiCFAiL *cough*) but we enjoyed every minute of being in each others good company! This is the outfit I threw together (in literally 15mins) for our "night out." The quality is kind of sucky, but I felt like I had gone too long with an outfit posting.

Age Ain't Nothing But a Number...Or Is It??

I'm at the age were I've moved out on my own, pretty self sufficient, and exploring the dating scene. With that comes attention from men of all age groups (eww, yes even graddaddy aged men), but I'm trying to figure out where the age limit line should be drawn, and if there should be a limit.
Often me and my best-friends discuss the age thing, and often times it seems like guys who are in the 26-28 range are starting to look for someone to settle down with, which I'm not trying to do at 20. I feel that if I can feel comfortable around the person, and they aren't expecting the world from me I can get to know them. For me, with age comes wisdom, a certain level of establishment, and some type of accomplishments; and if the man lacks any of those things I can't settle for him. I may not be looking for my future husband, but I won't allow myself to become involved with just anyone. I'm sifting through the frogs before my Prince Charming comes along, and if he has no degree, no career, no car, no goals then he has no future with me!!

But I want to know how you all feel about age & dating!

God Don't Like Ugly

Hey beautiful people!
I'm currently blogging from my phone & feeling like a slack mother who has abandoned her baby :(. I've been uninspired lately and working these 40 hour work weeks, and this monotonous work attire ain't helping. On top of all that I have locked my smart self out of my laptop *bangs head against table* lol.
Someone asked to borrow my laptop, & I thought they would try to be nosey so I changed the password to something I can't even remember smh. Thats why I titled this post "God Don't Like Ugly". I was not acting rationally & couldve let them use my account instead of the guest account, and all together it was an ugly gesture. If anything I have got to learn to be more trusting of people, and set softer passwords lol.

I just want you all to know I haven't forgot about y'all and I'm coming back! I'm just not a fan of blogging apps because I have to triple check my posts & 95% of the time it still has errors!

-"I LOVE YOU" to my deceased grandmother. My granny was one of the most influential individuals in my life. She always knew I could make it, and no matter what I did she was always proud of me.

-"YOU WERE NEVER GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME" to my ex-boyfriend. When I look back I think of how reckless & stupid I was for someone who wouldn't do the same for me I'm almost ashamed. But I am thankful that God brought him into my life to show me that I deserve & can do so much better.

-"F##K YOU...YOU REALLY SCARRED ME" to the guy who I found peeping into my window at my old apartment. I cried for days and went for weeks without a real night of sleep. For a while I was really living in fear, but I realized that I had to grow stronger from the incident, instead of allowing it to hold me down. Not too many things get me mad enough to curse but I would use every word in the book on him.

-"TAKE A DOSE OF REALITY & GROW UP!" to so many people. Its ridiculous how petty and full of BS "grown" people are. I have a low tolerance for ignorance, and it really hurts to see how people will set themselves back by acting so childish, especially in this college environment. People forget the reason behind them attending college & some people would be better off still at home.

This Day 4 post was sort of a stress relief...venting with the keys! I feel a little better now lol.

1. This Freetress Kara Wig- I didn't fall in love until I came across this video, but when I did I fell HARD!! The color, the style, and the fact that it would give my hair a rest makes it something that I need to invest in.

2. A Cinnabon- I think its been almost a year since I've indulged in one of these. There used to be a Cinnabon about 20 minutes away from me at the outlets, but they took it out! I was really mad about that too lol. It's all kinds of bad stuff, but so tempting!

3. Blush Colored Blazer- I'm stalking every thrift store in town (and those in Charlotte when I go home) until I have a blush colored blazer in my closet! I'm praying that I find the perfect one on $.50 Sundays at Goodwill.

4. "LUST" by LUSH Cosmetics- This is my favorite perfume ever and last week I ended the bottle *insert a sad, sad cry here*. I hate paying for shipping, and I don't want to make a trip to Atlanta anytime soon so I'm without. I may have to convince my bestie to pick it up for me when she goes next week!

5. Printed Trousers- I love having prints on the bottom!

1.Work! I work freakishly long hours for a 20 year old. & I am one of those people who has always taken work stress home with me. I have got to break that!

2.Boys- I'm single so I have the right to be a tad bit boy crazy, lol. The opposite sex makes life so much more interesting.

3.School- I graduate college next year, but then there is the task of figuring out what grad school I'm going to, and if I still want to go to law school (at this point I don't).

4.Life- I wonder if I'm living my life to the fullest. Some of my peers have done so much that I feel like I'm lacking in the living department.

5.My Future- After I've been completely released from my parents wings I want to know how my life will be...I just want to have a happy life.

6.Money- I spend a lot of it, so of course its on my mind! I have been trying to get my money management skills together, because there is nothing cute about being broke!

7.Friendship- I value every relationship I have with the people I call my friends. I just pray that nothing ever breaks these strong bonds we have!

140 Days til 21

140 days until my 21st birthday means to me that I have 140 days to get it right! Since my 20th birthday I've been declaring that I would like to be a size 10/12 by my 21st, but have not been taking any successful strides towards that goal, (so slack). I've never been the type to want to be skinny, or never would I be; hips & boobs run all through my family! I just want to be a healthier me. In high school I threw shot-put and discus for the track & field team so I was always getting my cardio and weight-training in, but in my freshman year in college I gained ____lbs...I'm too shamed to even say lol.

Yesterday I went to Charlotte to be with my little brother for his 16th birthday, and I met up with my bestfriend. She just had a baby 2 months ago and looks fab, and she says she wants to lose 20lbs! I'm like I have no baby so I have no excuse! So I'm embarking on the journey towards a lifestyle change. Right now I'm just exploring different avenues to help me achieve my goal, and deciding what kind of program I want to be on. I like the idea of Weight Watchers because of the support system, and I have yet to hear anything bad about the program. I'm at the point where I've tried alone and clearly it hasn't gotten me anywhere so I gotta have some sure fire motivation!! I asked the lovely Daisy of I'm Just Daisy her thoughts about Weight Watchers and I love her response:

" thanks for the love! The way I look at it is like this: I can blow 40 bucks a month on miscellaneous items on stuff like cosmetic products, shoes, and etc that won't really benefit my health in any way!
So the $40 spent on WW every month is so worth it when you are benefiting from it in a lifestyle change like weight watchers! And the great thing about it is once you get the tools you don't have to keep paying! You can keep up w/ it all on your own w.o paying every week or month!

Don't be afraid to indulge in something that will be worth it in the end girl! :)"

So hopefully before June ends I will have found my weight loss niche, and be on my way to the golden goal! I'll be sure to keep you all posted as I progress, and hopefully we can motivate and inspire one another to achieve WHATEVER goals we have set!

Fab Find of the Week!

Hey!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I just wanted to share this cute pair of shades I found this week! I was doing a Goodwill run-through on Wednesday, and as soon as I came in these shades were sitting on the front counter! I was so distracted by them that I forgot to look at the "Color of the Day" sign.

These are a pair of Foster Grant sunglasses for $1! I checked on Ebay and a similar pair was going for almost $25. I loved them even though i could barely see myself in them because they put those price stickers on the lenses WTF, really??? I got them home, took the price stickers off and the residue was left on them :(....but that was not going to keep me from wearing them! I Googled ways to remove it, and toothpaste removes sticker residue (just in case you ever need that info).

I think I'm cute...Don't judge me!

I also picked up this skirt ....only spent $3.12 in Goodwill this week! These shades made my week though!

Starting today is the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual! If you don't know about this sale, then you don't know what your missing! The sale will run from now until July 3, 2011 or until the supply runs out. For me I have a few must haves:

-Wallflower refills- I'm addicted to these things and they are $5...I'm trying to rack up on at least 4 packs

-Forever Sunshine fragrance, Lemon Vanilla fragrances, and the Margarita Spa Scrub

-Scentportables for my car

-A few gift sets so I can get some early Christmas shopping done

I usually just travel to the B&BW Outlet to get my scent fix, but the Semi-annual always trumps the outlets in price! Happy Shopping Ya'll!!

I Must Confess....I'm Completely Obsessed - PINK!!

It may be Spring but down here in the south Spring doesn't get much of a chance. I have been embracing my girlish side, rocking essential Spring pastels, and have slowly began to fall back in love with PINK! I think its because I like the way the hues of pink blend with my tanned skin, and how effortlessly pink can give a little life!

I'm even rocking my Pink Friday lipstick, which I initially hated! Found some bomb $.99 raspberry colored lip liner and it gave the lipstick a whole new life. I feel so feminine with this pink shade on lips! Its a nice switch up from the nudes I've been wearing.

I found this Revlon TopSpeed Quick Dry polish in "Pink Lingerie" at Walmart last week. I picked it up as a replacement for some dried up pastel pink polish, but this polish is the truth!! And many of the guys I have come across even comment on the color #WIN !

So pink is my power color right now! Might be orange or blue next month, but for now I'm pretty in pink! What shades are working for you this season? What color trends are you wanting to try? Let me know, because I might want to try out some your suggestions!!

Been Gone for Too Long, Now its Time to Bring it Back!!

Hey beautiful people! I'm back to blogging...for now jk. I have been meaning to make post since about April but just haven't got around to it *hangs head in shame*. Blame its on final exams, extra hours at work, and lack of a photographer (I'm my own photographer.) But lets put that all behind, and enjoy the post!

This skirt was $2.12 today at Goodwill!! I knew I had to have it when I saw it & at that price it couldn't be left behind. I decided to play dress-up when I got home, and found 2 different ways to rock it!

The first way was a dress, inspired by this post on My Thrifted Closet ...SheRea is awesome!

Added some denim for a more casual, comfy vibe

Here as a skirt! Since thats what it is, lol. I felt kind of fancy wearing it like this! Me likey though!

And these shoes....LAWD HAMMERCY!!! I found these Jessica Simpson wedges for $15 at Marshalls. Clearly these shoes were meant for me...they were the only pair I saw left, and I didn't discover them until I went over the shoe section a second time!

So this past Friday me and my bestfriends took a 2 hour roadtrip to Atlanta, and today (Sunday), we came back! Friday we checked into our hotel and ventured out to Lenox Square Mall. It was big but not too impressive to me. We were in Macy's looking around, and we stumbled upon the LUSH section *insert heavenly awww*. This place was definently what I needed. I had heard about them from one of my favorite YouTuber's, and I knew I had try the stuff out! So here's my haul, I picked up 5 items and got 2 (make that 3) free samples and spent $43.57!

Sultana of Soap- mine was cut in store, but its $5.95 online

Sex in the Shower Emotibomb- $4.50

Glorious Mud Sugar Scrub- $5.95

Heavanilli Massage Bar- $9.95

Lust Perfume- $13.95 for 0.3 fl oz.

Samples of Creme Anglaise ($44...whoa) & R&B Hair Moisturizer ($18.95)

So far I have used the Sultana Soap, which smells delish with the Creme Anglaise Body Cream ( I still can't believe she was trying to sell me this $44 product) which feels and smells really nice. I have also used the Heavanilli bar which seems to keep my skin moisturized well. This R&B Hair Moisturizer ain't no joke! It made my hair supple and my curls were popping....I might have to buy a full size once I run out of the samples because not only does it make my hair feel good, but the ingredients are great too!
I'm going to try to make these products last, so I'm going to cut up the bath/shower products so that I can get more than one or two uses from them & get my money's worth. I'm a college student and I have to make every penny count so hopefully I can get about 5 uses out of the Sex in Shower Emotibomb and Mud Scrub, and the soap is soft so I'm going to cut it into fourths so it won't melt away sitting in my shower!
Check your area for a LUSH store, the employees were great, the store was great, and I will be making further purchases from this company!

There is a great sense of pride surrounding the month of February within the African American community. During this time we reflect on influential blacks who have improved the lives of not only our own, but of people of every race and culture.

I'm proud of every ground groundbreaking, people-freeing, world-em-bettering, life changing move my people have made. We still have a llllllloooonnnnnnggggg ways to go, but thank God we are not where we used to be! We will keep getting better, and keep giving our ancestors a reason to smile down on us!

As you all may know tomorrow is Christmas, and a day to celebrate the birth of Christ and the fellowship with family and friends. But I can't complain, at least I'm blessed to have a steady job this year! Well I'm back off my cruise, and back in South Carolina...such a bittersweet feeling! But for the record i♥Miami lol. I almost wish we would have spent the entire time there instead of in the Bahamas! But let me run a few of the trips highlights past you guys:

-Met this sexy guy (yummy)...basketball player, with a baby-face type lol
-We were stranded at sea all day Sunday because of 'inclement weather' in the Great Stirrup Cay :(
-Walking around South Beach and Downtown Miami....they showed me so much love
-And last but not least the insanely low prices for bottles of liquor, on the boat and the Bahamas shore...definently will be going back after my 21st!

July 13, 2010 I finally big chopped after 9 months of transitioning and its been one the best experiences ever. So many girls on campus say I inspire them to want to go natural, and I can do is encourage them and tell them to do it, it cant hurt.
My main issue is that after 5 months of being fully natural i still find it hard to develop a list of products that make my hair ecstatic. I have only only found about 2 super staples (Shea Moisture Smoothie and also a cheapie glycerin mix from the dollar store). Searching for a holy grail of products has really turned me into a product junkie, and I don't even enjoy it (I'd rather buy clothes).
As you follow me on this blog you will be receiving many product reviews until I find some that makes me and my hair happy! Hopefully I will be able to give you all a review of a few Miss Jessie's products in the New Year (I'm taking advantage of the BOGO sale), so stay tuned for that!

So I've decided to start back on my blog (hopefully this last longer than winter break). First semester of my Junior year is OVER and I'm so glad! Now its time celebrate Christmas, New Years and my cruise to the Bahamas next week..I'm super amped! I've decided to have Journalism as my cognate, along with my Political Science major, so hopefully this blog helps keep the creativity flowing && vice versa!
